ESTIMATOR
Job Description

We are looking for an organized, driven, and experienced Estimator to work out of our Albany, Oregon office. The Estimator is responsible for estimating the cost, overhead and profit of assigned company projects as well as related negotiations with general contractors.

Prepares estimates with the proper level of detail for all scopes
Maintains cost data base of historical and current market pricing for in-house estimating purposes
Manages themselves/estimating team in the preparation, qualification, and assembly of all bids
Prepare disciplined estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work, general conditions, labor take-off’s for self-perform and to compare to subcontractor bids.
Review and obtain pricing, if required, bid bond, builder’s risk, building permit, sales tax status and insurance.
Consults with VP & Project coordinator, subcontractors, and material suppliers to discuss and formulate change order estimates.
Performs senior business development activities, manages estimating team to ensure daily review of all bid centers, DJC, OSBHE, Dodge Report, etc. for potential bid opportunities.
Reviews supplier bids for conformity to contract requirements and makes final determination of acceptable bids.
Assures that the bidding team acts with integrity and employs ethical behavior during all stages of the estimating process and follows SCC core values and beliefs.
Researches construction documents and analyzes specifications to determine estimated costs, Attends pre-bids or evaluates project potential and assigns attendee
Present a detailed scope/material list to project team, and orchestrate a project handoff meeting.

Know, understand, and live the SCC Mission, Vision, and Core Values and use them to guide daily activities.
Follow estimating standard operating procedures.
Attend “All Company” and Leadership meetings, meet annual goals.
Understands the value of and protects his/her time.
Have estimates ready to review 24 hours prior to bid.
Verify bid coverage of all scope of work prior to bid day.
Hold review meetings for all estimates with VP of Construction

Must be able to pass a drug test and comply with our company vehicle safety program
4 year degree in a construction related major
Minimum 3-5 years project estimating experience

We operate in the public and private sector. SCC is determined to raise the standard of what quality means and looks like. Serving a wide array of markets in the Oregon Valley, we operate in an approximate 1hr – 1.5hr radius from our location in Albany. We provide service on projects from small tenant improvements to some of the area’s most recognizable architectural landmarks.
Carpenter
Job Description

We are looking to add an organized, driven, and experienced Carpenter to our team. As a carpenter you would be responsible for constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing structures in accordance to plans, specifications, and local building codes.

Execute tasks and activities as directed, in accordance with plans and specifications provided by the Foreman.
Abides by the chain of command.
Performs wall layout, framing, rough carpentry, and concrete work.
Installs bathroom partitions, doors and hardware, and casework and trims.
Provides on-the-job training for company apprentices and new employees.
Typically performs carpenter duties and supervises labor to ensure work assignments are being completed properly.
Ensures compliance with quality and production standards established by the Foreman’s work plan.
Encourages a positive attitude within the crew and works well as a member of the team.
Watched for compliance with safety polices and understands the utilization of all PPE.
Keeps job site clean and free of debris as needed for a safe environment.
Informs Foreman of upcoming needs for tools and materials with ample notice.
Performs other related duties and responsibilities as directed by the Foreman.

Finisher
Job Description

We are looking to add an organized, driven, and experienced Concrete Finisher to our team. As a Concrete Finisher you would be responsible for placing, pouring, and finishing concrete to specification.

Spread concrete to specified depth and workable consistency.
Levels, smooths, and shapes surfaces of freshly poured concrete.
Removes rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces.
Provides on the job training for company apprentices and new employees.
Typically performs concrete and limited carpenter duties.
Ensures compliance with quality and production standards as established by the Foreman’s work plan.
Fosters a positive attitude within the crew.
Watches for compliance with safety policies.
Keeps job site clean and free of debris as needed for a safe environment.
Informs Foreman of upcoming needs for materials and tools.
